Local Photographer and Great Yarmouth & Waveney Mind Volunteer, Tracy Collyer, has seen her photograph successfully make it to the front cover of Stephen King’s re-release of Dreamcatcher. This is Tracy’s seventh photograph to make it on to the front cover of a book. Other titles which have adorned Tracy’s fantastic work include Beverly Bartons, The Dying Game and The Hunger by Alma Katsu.
Tracy from Lowestoft accessed Great Yarmouth & Waveney Mind’s service 7 years ago and has been volunteering for the charity ever since. Tracy found photography to be a great way to express her feelings and serve as a self-help tool to support her own mental health.
Encouraged by Great Yarmouth & Waveney Mind staff, Tracy attended a photography course at College and was then invited to run a regular photography group to support other local people accessing the charity’s services. Tracy is also regularly commissioned by the charity to undertake promotional photography.
The Photography group, which is run from Great Yarmouth & Waveney Mind’s Community Garden Project in Southtown will be submitting work to the charity’s upcoming art exhibition, which is also being organised by Tracy.
The exhibition will feature not only work by the group but also some great local artists, who will be showcasing a selection of art styles including fine art, photography and sculptures. All artists will be donating a percentage of sales to Great Yarmouth & Waveney Mind to help support future creative arts projects.
The artist’s will be presenting their work at the Fisher Patterson Gallery, Great Yarmouth Library, from Thursday 13th December to Saturday 15th December.
